Apple's Latest Creation: What is it?

Apple has finally confirmed their next event, by sending out invitations, to be held on the 27th January.

That’s not long away, so keep on the edge of your seats, as they’re going to show off their ‘latest creation’.

If you’ve been following the latest buzz, then you’ll know that their expected iSlate is to be shown.

Along with Apples new touch screen based computer, it's also speculated that we may see Macbook hardware updates along with a preview of the iPhone OS 4.0.

Some speculation floating around for 4.0 includes the ability to officially run applications in the background.

App Reviews

I just recently uploaded quite a few app reviews. In this post, I will cover the positives and negatives of all of them.

Text Free Unlimited

This app is amazing for people, like me, who have been searching for the perfect free texting app. It does what the other free apps do and more!

This application takes advantage of the push server so that the moment you get a message, no matter what you are doing, it pops up on the screen. And then you have the option to open the application to reply or not. You can also choose ringtones and even set different ones for different people!

The only real draw backs are that it does cost six dollars, and, on occasion, the message doesn't pop up when you get it. That happening is very rare, and its not the apps fault. Its the push server.

TVU Lite

This application is made for those extreme TV junkies. It gives you access to a large number of TV channels for free.

This app has alot of channels of all things ranging from old cartoons to celebrity interviews. The buffering time is almost none. I never have any issues with it pausing once it is loaded.

It is a Lite app, so you don't get access to all the features of a full app, but that doesnt make what you do get any less great!

Live Cams

The Live Cams application is amazing! It allows you to access web and security cameras from all around the world!

There are hundreds of cameras to view, all over the world. There are famous locations, like the Eiffel Tower and Alcatraz. You have the ability to zoom or pan. You can take screen shots and add favorites.

Some cams take longer to load than others. It does cost money, but only $.99!

Drivers Ed

This application includes driving hand books for all fifty states and practice and full tests.

This application is perfect for anyone needing to take Drivers Ed. It is much better than having to take a drivers hand book everywhere with you.

This app is only directed towards people who are in the class or preparing for a written test.

Chipotle

This is an amazing app!!!

I love Chipotle and eat there all the time. The app couldn't be simpler. You choose the foods you want, give any specific directions for how to prepare it, and then it sends your order to the Chipotle you select from a map of ones near you. By the time you get to the restaurant, your order is ready.

iPod Nano 5G Video Test

Enjoy!

iPod Touch 3G/2G Red Hardshell Case Review

Along with the blue hardshell case, I bought this red one. Enjoy the review!
YouTube Review: YouTube

First Impressions
  • Case is very similar to previously reviewed Blue Hardshell Case
  • Has full back protection
  • Has a reflective apple logo which is attractive
  • Only comes with 16GB printed on back

Case Application
  • Case applies slightly more difficult than Blue Hardshell Case
  • It's a tighter fit, which means more protection from dust

Final Thoughts
  • The backing is solid plastic, meaning it could get scuffed up a bit after some use
  • It exposes every button completely, which could be bad if you dropped it.
  • Looks really nice!
  • Like the other case, it was 1.00$ USD with free shipping on eBay

iPod Touch 3G/2G Blue Hardshell Case Review

Youtube Review: YouTube

First Impressions
  • The case doesn't come in a box
  • The case is rubberized, which is nice
  • The color is slightly metallic
  • Cutouts for the antenna seem slightly pointless
Application
  • The case is easy to put on the iPod Touch
  • There are some areas where dust could get in
  • It doesn't cover any of the chrome bezel on the iPod
Final Thoughts
  • It's a great deal especially for 1$ on Ebay
  • Great in combination with a proper screen protector
